Pros

1. The company have good client and many good project. There are so much room to learn and earn new skills. 2. Sometimes we were treated witn free lunch, karaoke or other activity.

Cons

1. The management of company is unprofessional. Sometime they mix personal view with work. Giving unsolicidate advise but really fear mongering you not to leave the company. 2. Some of the higher management use sweet words and false promises to boost your work. 3. They didn’t compensiate the work with salary or bonuses but with free lunch, karaoke or other activity. 4. They often sway their naive or young staff to love working extra mile for solely to gain “experience”. 5. Often time the management or senior staff talk badly about ex staff and exaggerate the reason the staff left or play down the real reason why they left. 6. There are rumours that some same level staff were given very different rate salary even thought they working the same project. Not sure if it gender issues or race issues, but from what we observed it is surely not based on skills.

We are pleased to hear that the former employee values our company and its clientele, has upskilled with us, gained valuable knowledge, and enjoyed our daily breakfasts, weekly lunches, and monthly celebrations. However, it is unfortunate that he did not utilise our internal reporting systems (HR, Anonymous Slack Channel, Management) to share his concerns with us. Since his remarks are quite severe, alleging violations of basic human rights and forced labour practices, let's address these issues to offer some clarity. 1. At Avinity Analytics, we provide a mix of personal and collective views that are related to work matters. Such feedback is kept professional, and our management team offers guidance to support employees’ growth. We respect our employees' freedom to explore career opportunities. Regarding the mention of "fear mongering tactics", our Modern Slavery Policy which clearly denounces any form of forced labour practices. In accordance with Article 1.1.1 & 1.3.1 of the mentioned document, Avinity Analytics has now opened an investigation to verify this claim that violates Article 1.1.2. 2. Every manager and supervisor encourages their team members when they perform well. They also provide moral support and occasionally offer additional rewards when dealing with tight deadlines or last minute client requests. 3. Every employee working at Avinity Analytics receives a pre-agreed monthly salary, benefits, and bonuses each year if individual and company performance levels are met. Free perks are provided to employees to encourage bonding between colleagues, to cultivate a positive and motivating work environment, and are not intended as compensation for extra work. In accordance with Article 1.1.1 & 1.3.1 of our Modern Slavery Policy, Avinity Analytics has now opened an investigation to verify this claim that violates Article 1.1.2 & 1.2.3. 4. Junior colleagues may have a technical skill gap compared to seniors when they joined the company, but are encouraged to learn more. This is essential at this stage of their careers to gain the necessary technical skills and work experience in order for them to perform their roles effectively. They receive extensive career development support and a personalised data development program, which assesses competency skills and provides sponsored technical education. 5. Some incidents involving former employees were discussed internally, as these incidents were significant and adversely affected the company. The intention is to learn from these experiences and use them as reminders to improve our practices and work environment. 6. All employees at Avinity Analytics are assessed and compensated based on a meritocracy system. Salary differences may occur due to variations in technical capabilities, experience, and potential for long-term growth. If employees feel they are underpaid, they are given the opportunity to present their case immediately. With appropriate justification, salary adjustments are made promptly to ensure fair compensation. Many employees in the company have received such salary increments. The allegation of salary discrimination based on race, gender, or other factors is serious and contrary to our values and Modern Slavery Policies. Our team is committed to preventing discrimination, and such allegations are taken very seriously. As a result, Avinity Analytics has initiated an investigation to verify this claim, as it violates Article 1.2.1 of our policies. Lastly, we welcome this former employee to reach out to any of our Avinity Analytics team to verify the above statements. As these are practiced in a transparent and open manner.

Pros

1. Lunch and breakfast provided. 2. Learning and upskilling is paid for through online courses like Coursera. 3. Colleagues are generally nice and helpful. They are willing to share knowledge. The work environment with colleagues is quite fun as everyone helps out and take responsibility. 4. Less red tape so easier to try out new things and projects. Roles are more flexible with opportunities to learn new things. 5. Some of the management are quite supportive. Any concerns or help needed can be easily communicated to them to get support in work or personal matters.

Cons

1. No laptop provided (not even hand-me-downs) and employees are expected to use their own personal laptops. This is quite unusual for a tech company, even small or non-tech companies provide a laptop. 2. Benefits are on the lower side. WFH privilege is minimal, with not much allowances or insurance. 3. Notice period after probation is very long. Which make it insanely difficult to find another opportunity or expensive. 4. Many new joiners are fresh graduates or interns which require more guidance. Also lack seniors employees to really guide them since most people don’t really have the expertise and years of experience. 5. Unclear direction and expectations from a certain manager. It is quite distressing telling me I failed to meet those expectations that I wasn't even aware of. 6. Autocratic working culture. Long time employees also tell me to just say yes to everything that manager asks for, regardless if its possible. 7. That manager don't really give constructive feedback on work. Feedback tend to be based on hearsay and personal feelings. 8. High turnover rate and low team morale.

We thank this former employee for highlighting our benefits such as free breakfast, lunches, and courses. We’re glad that he appreciated our dynamic work culture and connected with our talented team. Our management team is always available to listen and advise on both work-related and personal matters. This former employee was with the company for three months. His probation was extended, and he was allowed to commit to improvements before confirming his employment. However, he chose to resign immediately. During this time, management actively communicated with him, and he mentioned needing to leave for personal reasons. Consequently, he was allowed to leave without compensation to the company. Which is why the second part of the review comes as a surprise for us. During his 3 months at the company, we have not heard any negative comments mentioned in the review. Now that these concerns have been raised publicly, let's address them individually: 1. Employees have the option to use a company-provided laptop or bring their own device. He chose to bring his own laptop and did not request a company laptop. Meanwhile his colleagues were using company-provided laptops during his tenure. 2. Benefits provided by the company are above market average (visit this link https://avinityanalytics.com/careers/ for details). The former employee has also worked from home numerous times, and all his WFH requests were approved. 3. The notice period are market standards that ranges from 1 to 3 months, depending on seniority. The former employee did not serve any notice period due to family issues, therefore making this claim unfounded. 4. We are actively hiring seniors and the former employee, with 3 years of relevant industry experience, was hired to fill this role. Hiring senior professionals directly is a key strategy, but we also place significant emphasis on upskilling our junior team members to advance to senior roles. This balanced approach creates ample opportunities for young talent to grow and develop within the company. 5. During the probation review, the former employee was informed of the areas for improvement. We did not expect immediate changes but allowed time for progress. However, instead of addressing these points, he decided to resign from the position immediately. 6. High-level goals and deliverables are established, with both senior and junior members given the autonomy to execute their tasks freely. Detailed oversight is provided only when work is not completed or is delivered at subpar quality. The company values innovation, encouraging employees to experiment and learn from failures rather than focusing on potential negative outcomes, which can lead to stagnation. 7. Constructive feedback is consistently provided on work-related matters. At Avinity Analytics, we operate on a meritocracy system that recognizes talents and supports improvements through actionable feedback. Personal traits are addressed only when they impact work performance or affect others. 8. The turnover rate has notably decreased over the past year due to our focus on hiring the right talent. Employee morale has also improved significantly, reflecting the positive impact of the changes implemented by management. 9. Personal traits and behaviors related to work are addressed when they negatively impact the workplace. The intention behind these discussions is to foster growth and improvement. Management will not discuss personal traits and behaviors unrelated to work. Evidence was considered unnecessary as the review was not intended for condemnation or termination, but rather as a constructive and encouraging approach to promote improvement.

Probations are extended due to subpar performance. Other benefits described are misleading and unfounded.
