Pros

After my first few months, I have found Backbase to be an ambitious, fast-moving and genuinely collaborative company. The strategy is evolving rapidly around AI-native and agentic banking, which makes the work highly relevant and creates many opportunities to contribute. People are accessible, ideas can move quickly, and there is a strong bias for action. I have also experienced the Backbase CODE in practice, particularly collaborating as one, starting with the why, telling it like it is and raising the bar. Employees are given meaningful responsibility and can have visible impact without waiting for lengthy hierarchies.

Cons

The pace of change can be intense, and priorities sometimes evolve quickly. This is probably not the ideal environment for someone looking for a highly predictable, narrowly defined or routine role. Success requires comfort with ambiguity, proactive communication and the ability to continuously reprioritize.
