I have been working at BioFire Diagnostics full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Benefits, lots of growth, good company if you want a corporate gig

    Cons

bioMerieux, the parent company, is finally taking over the company even though they purchased BioFire years ago. Some could argue that without BioFire, bioMerieux would be struggling. Some senior managers/executives have been forced out or have quit. The CEO is no longer with the company. Many uncertainties . Pay could always be better. BioFire is turning into just another larger corporation.

I worked at BioFire Diagnostics full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The schedule was always my favorite, offering every other Friday off. The building is modern, bright, and airy.

    Cons

Absolutely the extreme levels of nepotism, favoritism, and cliques amongst different groups. I have never worked at a company that had more employees who were woefully unqualified for their jobs, but they were there because they were related to an employee or were close friends to one. This also causes the ridiculous high school-level cliquishness within the company. Not only do many employees only socialize with those they work around all day, but they actively dislike other groups within the company. YOU ALL WORK FOR THE SAME COMPANY. The company also has gotten too corporate since it moved into the new building a few years ago. It has required OT on the weekends for pouch manufacturing because BioFire is far too concerned with just making more pouches than the previous month. Instead of trying to solve all of life's problems within a 12-month deadline, perhaps work on your internal systems and processes to make the workplace less toxic. Also, the $5 daily stipend for lunch is a joke. It covers almost nothing that the cafeteria sells and that food is some of the worst food I have ever eaten.
