Pros

Leave early on Fridays, nothing more.

Cons

Working at Builders was the worse work experience I have ever had. Management was toxic and lacked any sense of logical training skills. Since starting at my new company I have realized how trash the benefits at Builders really is. Someone will respond to this review and say what I am saying is not true so please trust me and the other reviews when I say this is not a best place to work. Just because they won an award for it does not make it true. They will probably include a link for the Best Place to work article but as a worker there for over 5 years I can honestly tell you working in the claims department affects you emotionally in a bad way. And if you are new to the insurance world don’t apply because they will not train you and throw a heavy work load on you even if you say you’re overwhelmed. They don’t care.

Wow, this review is entirely inaccurate. (1) All employees always get a bonus, if their performance "meets expectations" or exceeds them. This has always been a written policy and has always been followed. (2) Managers are required to respond to employees. If they do not, please inform others, as that is not tolerated. (3) Our benefits are excellent, and we increase them each year - med/pharmacy, vision, dental. Our plan provides not only good coverage, but also full and open explanation and a Claims Advocate to make sure the insurer pays up fully. (4) The new CEO could not have done a better job expressing appreciation verbally and with occasional gifts and spontaneous holidays. Folks are really very happy here. Those who are not should report any specific issues they have, rather than posting baseless anonymous allegations that are easily disproven.

A lot has changed in the four years since this comment was made, including the CEO and four other top officer roles. We have made numerous internal promotions since then. Those include three internal promotions to C-level offices. But we still have early dismissal on Fridays and work-from-home days!
