I worked at Butterfly Effects part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great experience working with families. Good field opportunity for career development.

    Cons

Was not given hours offered, or the case I was hired for. I ended up waiting months for a dedicated position. Ended up leaving because the hours did not allow for a livable wage and unprofessionalism of staff.

    Advice to Management

People need to survive in order to do their job. Care about your employees. It will also serve you well.

I worked at Butterfly Effects part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Higher starting wage
    Flexibility
    Clients and families are great

    Cons

Stay away from this company. Hiring process is ridiculously long and training is unpaid. There are many other smaller ABA providers with better training and benefits like medical, dental, etc. You are promised clients and it never works out. They will fire you and not even care about it because lack of communication is that severe.

    Advice to Management

Stop paying people to write positive reviews for your company. Get some ethical practices because there are none. Offer better benefits to your hard working employees and stop worrying about profit. This is a sad company and you would think there wouldn't be such a high turnover rate being a ABA provider. How about using some positive reinforcement and look after your employees!

    Pros

The comments and replies are helpful and word to the one who said "comments are planted" Stop being a hater! It's called BRANDING! Any reputable company should be replying to negative comments to provide control of the situation. And what feedback site doesn't have more negative comments than positive ones? That is whats wrong with this society. Can't blame them for trying to keep an image of positivity when it takes more effort to do such acts.
People just feel its okay to complain because they can be antonymous. Is there a place that you can work with no disgruntled employees or clients that are difficult? If so, I want to work there. The industry we work in as well as being Home Health is one of the most stressful to be in because of all the regulations, families with opinions, and red tape! I have been a health care professional for over 5 years with several companies. What makes a good company is not one individual but the mission of the whole. What is "Butterfly Effects trying to accomplish?" Is what should be brought to light here. Anyone who looks at these reviews and makes a judgement about what it would be like to work here is not being open minded to the reality that people are quick to point out flaws. Can they improve? Yes, but what company cant? I hope the people out there who reply and use Glass door for their decision making take a step back and look at the bigger picture? Are you going to let someone elses opinion dictate how you make your own experiences? Sounds like some people are just bitter!

    Cons

Communication can be difficult because we work in the field a lot.

I have been working at Butterfly Effects (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Butterfly Effects is the first ABA company that I have worked for that I have no doubt is making ethical decisions and putting the client needs first. The company has made many changes over the last several years and continues to make strides in compensation and benefits. The company has many opportunities for advancement and opportunities for clinicians interested in areas other than clinical management including training, marketing and management.

    Cons

In home services is a setting for individuals who are comfortable with flexibility and ever changing schedules.

    Pros

Zero.... unless you are selected by management as a special employee to write a planted online rebuttal to all of the negative reviews. Let the planting begin!

    Cons

It's amusing how every time a legitimate review is written by a current or former employee which expresses all of the accurate, horrifying disappointments of Butterfly Effects, miraculously, within a few days, a new review is submitted which turns all of the negative statements into positive ones. Just look at the trend for yourself. Clearly, the management team is working feverishly to do damage control and is recruiting certain brainwashed employees to write a rebuttal to all of the constructive criticism. This is corruption and unethical behavior at its finest and another example that this company cannot be trusted! The president likes to try to impress everyone reading the reviews by talking up a good game her responses, but most its just smoke and mirrors... again... basic damage control. Don't believe any of it. Seems like there are so many more people out there who agree with the negative statements (because they are TRUE) and only the positive reviews are being submitted by internal recruits. Wouldn't be surprised if these people are getting some kind of benefit or kick back for their social media damage control services. What a joke! Not to mention all of parents and clients who have complained over and over throughout the years in various states. There is power is numbers... believe the truth from the masses and not the carefully crafted responses by a corrupt and unethical management team.

    Advice to Management

You are not fooling anyone. The pattern of your planted positive reviews is obvious to anyone with common sense who reads all of these reviews and looks at the trend. Stop trying to rig the process and stop trying to debunk true and legitimate concerns of the many, many employees who hate Butterfly Effects.

    Pros

A solid ABA organization. High standards, committed to the client and family, "purpose before task", investment on branding, mission, service promise. President takes time to hold town hall meetings to update everyone on changes or happenings. No tech goes out to sub untrained or any of the crazy stuff that happen in other ABA organizations.

    Cons

Unfortunately when dealing with people many or all tasks may have a purpose. In order to get all of those tasks done many extra hours are required. Multiple things are changing at once making it difficult to keep up with the changes and the demands also causing extra hours of work. Work can become very intrusive in personal life.

    Advice to Management

Continually evaluate workload expectations. Work like balance matters. Ensure change and growth is not too fast that areas are not dropped such as employee satisfaction and bonus. Ensure employee support for better retention.

I worked at Butterfly Effects part-time

    Pros

Starting pay $18.50/hour, higher than most other companies in the area for this position

    Cons

Training limited to 2-3 hours/ wk
    40 hrs unpaid training required
Only paid for travel after 40 minutes, no pay for mileage
    No communication between staff
Training department (not really a department) unsure of process and unable to answer questions
Takes months to finish training, and even longer to build caseload
No equipment or supplies provided by company- employee must pay everything out of pocket
Field training pays minimum wage, $8.00/ hour

    Advice to Management

Focus on training and increasing communication between staff members- especially new employees.
