    I worked at CARQUEST full-time

    Pros

    Good advancement opportunities. Training available

    Cons

As a counterman, i was not allowed to sit down, which is not the case in other Autoparts stores. Not the biggest deal but standing up all day in the same spot was not fun.

Former Employee - Parts Specialist in Bozeman, MT

I worked at CARQUEST full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Company was fine to deal with and provided opportunities to move up if desired.

    Cons

As with many retail operations the day to day work depended on management. Worked for Carquest for 6 years (4 in Helena MT, 2 in Bozeman Mt) under 2 great store managers then they moved on and the replacement was intolerable, now I work for Napa.

    Advice to Management

Selection of store managers is imperative to the operation of a parts store, for both employees and customers.

    Negative Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at CARQUEST full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Mon thru Fri shift with most weekends off

    Cons

Management treats the work place like a prison. The supervisors are hired within which means no new fresh ideas and they are already corrupt. Some of the supervisors are really close friends outside of the work place which in my opinion is a conflict of interest. Mandatory O/T is never announced until Friday after lunch.

    Advice to Management

Hire supervisors from outside the company and stop promoting employees to supervisors based on how who they know and not what they know.
