Pros

I wound up with great coworkers who became great friends, but we all quit within a 18 months of each other because of the working conditions.

Cons

- Pay is not competitive within the industry and raises are minimal. - Hours are not flexible and PTO is TERRIBLE. - Deadlines can be unreasonable and management has no clue how to do half the required tasks and therefore have no idea how long things really take, resulting in incredibly long and exhausting days ON A REGULAR BASIS. You are paid overtime but after a while your time and lack of work life balance are not worth the overtime - The HR of the company is a partner which is incredibly ethically questionable and she has horrible interpersonal skills and clearly has the company’s interest in mind and not the employee’s - Each of the design leads have different views on how things should be done leaving employees confused on the requirements and standards for each project - One of the design leads, Julie, is so busy she hardly participates in the early design process leaving the designers and project managers to guess their way through the design process only to be made to feel like an idiot when it’s reviewed by her because it wasn’t what she wanted, leaving you with a mountain of work to fix the project in a very short amount of time - The other design lead, Lisa, is known for her blow ups and chewing people out regularly. I’ve personally seen her make designers cry. You never know which version of her will show up to a meeting and she wants to review things but then is too busy to so you’ll either get chewed out because you didn’t show her something or chewed out because she doesn’t have time to review your stuff. Again, you never know which version you’re going to get that day. Any small mistake is also turned into defcon 5 by her so beware, even if you stay till midnight the night before something is due and forget something because you were clearly sleep deprived and overworked, the one thing you missed will be the one thing that gets focused on. Don’t expect a thank you for working three 16 hour days in a row to get it done. Just expect a lecture on what you could’ve done better.

Pros

CDC is an amazing company to work for with great staff and a great leadership team. During the COVID shut down, I personally saw how hard CDC fought to not lay off any of the employees, and were in fact able to give increases to everybody at the beginning of the year. Employees also taking time off for COVID-related illness or personal family issues were paid, and in cases of sickness, were sent food to their homes. They also provided everybody with individually wrapped masks to make sure everything was sanitary and safe. CDC also works hard to create a fun-filled work environment. Every birthday is celebrated here, and new employees are given welcome items. Every holiday is also celebrated, and the leadership goes above and beyond to make every event incredibly special. For instance, every employee was paid to go enjoy a day at the fair and given parking and spending money. When there is a holiday or celebration, they go out of their way to make sure everything is special. From providing breakfast all week, snacks, games with prizes, and a large party with food and activities. I also noticed how at the parties the partners walk around making sure everybody has food. They also walk around with dessert trays to make sure everybody is taken care of. This was especially surprising to me when I started, because I have never seen another company where the CEO walks around with food and makes sure everybody is served. These are just a few examples of what CDC does to take care of its employees. For myself personally, I have come to a few of the partners to discuss my own personal issues. They supported me and treated me with the utmost respect and privacy. As somebody who comes from a different industry, it is very uncommon to be able to talk personally with the leadership of a company and have them care about your feelings and who you are. The employees of this company are also caring and great to work with. The environment of CDC encourages you to build strong friendships and be close to the people you work with. The people training me took the time to explain things to me. They would also drop their work to show me how to do something or answer my questions. Even employees I don’t know well will run over in the kitchen to help me if I accidentally drop something or if I’m setting something up for our parties. At the end of the day, this company goes above and beyond to show how much their employees mean to them. They expect you to work hard, but they also reward you just as much and really care and love each employee. I was working in a different industry and happened to take a detour to CDC, and now I never want to leave! I have never been at a company with such great people. I think that says a lot about who runs CDC and what they stand for.

Cons

There are no cons, I worked with multiple other companies that don’t care about you or how you feel about things. I feel appreciative to be here.

Pros

Great Team structures and good atmosphere. Staff longevity. Everyone is really nice and respectful. Most of the Senior Management Team, has been staffed for over 10 years.

Cons

Limited management roles. There are not many teams to grow into. However, hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.
