Pros

International team, fitness card, occasional fruits at the office (vanish fast)

Cons

This company's management doesn't really care about people. Sometimes they give senior/director positions to their so-called friends and then no matter how bad or unexperienced those "friends" are -- they remain senior managers/directors. They only like and respect you when your opinion overlaps with theirs and if not, even if you were 100% spot on, they will turn their backs on you. The company can NOT handle open conflicts at all. They prefer smiling into your face but then trash you behind your back while again smiling. They do prefer listening only to themselves and to the people who say what they want to hear, never to the other side. Also the company really likes hiring senior people and then tell them what to do which is unacceptable - you either hire a junior and tell them what to do or you hire a senior because you don't have the expertise and you listen to them. On the surface everything is nice and pleasant and wonderful when in fact the company is rotten to the core. They claim flexible hours and work from home? Well, you can do like once a month it if you are fine with everyone reproachfully looking at you, and you feel like a small kid asking for sweets. This company values only smiles while it doesn't value hard work or smart work. Even if you are 101% efficient, they will still be unhappy if you aren't thrilled with the company culture. And what about the company culture? You should always smile, no matter what, never have conflicts or controversies even if you are right and your approach/idea gives the company hundreds of benefits; then you should attend some meetings or whatever they are called and waste your time there; you should be happy with everything; you should accept your manager's word as a gospel; you should always do whatever you are told even if the task is completely different the next morning. No understanding, no structure, no plan, no work, no real culture, no assistance. They have recently lost quite a few really valuable employees and that's only the beginning. The higher management evidently has no clue about running a business or about anything else -- they are practically juniors themselves. That's perceived and seen in the way they handle everything happening at the office. Also there is hardly any place to develop either personally or professionally: senior managers/directors are like kids themselves and for sure they don't like anyone who is smarter than them. Most of the employees are only waiting for the time to pass and constantly are looking for something better. Also the higher management is rarely at the office while they insist on everyone else sitting at the office, in this stuffy and noisy place, unable to focus (because of the noise). Hypocrisy in its purest.

Dear former employee, Thank you for taking the time for an evaluation. And too sad to hear that you were not happy with your time at COMATCH. For a chance to proactively change something it would have been helpful to clearly communicate these points during your time at COMATCH. However, we will share and discuss your suggestions for improvement. Please feel free to send us further background information by e-mail (jobs@comatch.com). We would also like to comment the statement with regards to conflict management in our organisation. For us it’s really important to openly address conflicts/wrong developments. Therefore, we live a strong feedback culture with quarterly feedback conversations. These talks are two-way (meaning upward and downward feedback), so that employees can develop themselves personally and professionally. Many greetings Jeannine

Pros

Nice office, fruits & Urban Sports Club

Cons

Bad company culture: - bad leadership - telling employees that they might get fired if they don't preform well seems to be common. Leading with fear and negative energy instead of motivation and support. - No trust - company claims that they have flexible working hours and that you can work from home but you can only do that if you are going to the doctors. They also expect you to work overtime otherwise you "don't work hard enough". - No development culture - no training or on boarding program. They are developing it now, few workshops to keep people satisfied. - If someone has different ideas that don't align with the Managers then you will most probably get fired or leave since no one will care about your "good" ideas. They hire smart people but don't want to listen to them since they think that they know best. - Turn over rate is super high and people are just leaving as soon as they have an opportunity. Management seems to ignore this problem, claiming that this is normal. -A blaming culture - everything is blamed on people and management dosen't want to see that something is wrong. If people are leaving then it is them, they don't fit in. If people didn't get feedback for more than 3 months then it is their fault, "you should have asked for it". - no transparency - company claims that they are transparent but they are usually avoiding the key questions. - no career path - no clear guidelines on how people can grow or be promoted. The question was raised several times but they are still developing the it. - No gender equality - sales team are mostly men and leadership is also just men. 2 -3 women in leadership positions out of around 14-16 Managers.

We would also like to comment your statement with regards to onboarding and personal development. Our people and therefore their personal and professional development are key for us. Since 2019 we offer our new joiners a structured onboarding lasting 5 days (and even 10 days for sales). Furthermore, for the professional development of our employees we kicked off the COMATCH academy. In total we conducted 19 skills training sessions with over 138 participants in 2019. The recommendation rate of our trainings is 9.9 out of 10. We are very proud of this! Many greetings Jeannine
