They don’t care about their patients
Feb 5, 2023 - Mental Health Technician in Walnutport, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Decent insurance. You can eat the food there. You got 40 hours and there was always optional overtime
Cons
The patients are treated poorly. They are only allowed to go out once a week and it’s to a crappy dollar store. They eat terribly and all they do is lay around as a result. The program is intended to keep them there. You do not make a difference. Every suggestion you make is tossed by the higher ups. No chance for advancements. They pick favorites. Some people will be thirty minutes late consistently and others will get in trouble for being five minutes late

depending on where you work, can be a laid back environment but with less structure residents/clients tend to become more disorganized and distressed
Cons
unfair pay, more responsibilities than what is listed in job description, lack of support from management, lack of coworkers to help out. Many employees are sexist, racist, abelist or homophobic.

Decent benefits but overall a hot mess
Aug 5, 2021 - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Philadelphia, PARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I found the pay and benefits to be pretty decent. I think I started with 4 weeks PTO and the pay was competitive.
Cons
No support when things went haywire. Found myself as the only nurse after my colleague quit suddenly... forced to work 80 hours/week for several months. Then found myself in a battle to try to block a potential new resident who was known to be quite violent. I lost the battle, he moved in and I got beat up almost immediately. That was the last straw for me, and quite honestly I hung on far too long

Overall okay employment for passing through. Not a lot of room for growth and development.
