I have been working at CU Direct full-time

    Pros

The pay is pretty competitive. The benefits are awesome. I feel respected as an employee. If you're truly driven, you'll be promoted; many opportunities to grow. They continue to make strides in the area of employee well-being. Strong set of core values. Financial transparency. The company has grown year over year since I started almost a decade ago. I haven't worked for a better employer.

    Cons

Not as progressive as many start-ups, but more stability, and it seems they are trying to improve. Office environment is the typical cubes / fluorescent lighting, but infrastructure improvement is happening slowly.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on employee well-being / gross domestic happiness. Small perks / gestures make a big difference.

I have been working at CU Direct full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Culture is great - informal, but remains professional. Work life balance is encouraged. Opinions are valueD by management. Huge opportunities for personal/professional growth due to levels of autonomy allowed. Quick to adopt new technologies. Agile. Great benefits package and beautiful office facilities.

    Cons

Some areas lack proper policy and procedure, but this seems to be improving recently.

    Advice to Management

Keep at it! Continue open communication and trust your employees once you set the direction.

I have been working at CU Direct full-time

    Pros

For the most part, this is a pretty good company. They have great benefits, build good products and are growing. Benefits package is awesome and good morale overall.

    Cons

ONLY MEN GET PROMOTED HERE. There is something weird as there aren't any women in management. There were a ton of promotions here in January and every one was a guy. I've only been here for a little while but it's obvious. We are overworked too but there are hiring more developers so it should get better.

    Advice to Management

there is no diversity in management at this place. Someone needs to look at it.

    Pros

Proud to be part of CU Direct. We have the best of both world worlds... a company that has been around for over 20 years, but continues to grow year after year. Tech company in the Inland Empire! Great benefits and a good work life balance.

    Cons

Changes happen pretty frequently, but seem to be for the long term success of the company. You definitely need to be able to adapt.

    Pros

The company is growing, profitable, stable and provide employees with excellent benefits and vacation. Mission & Policies are great and followed throughout the Organization. Quarterly team meetings, monthly team lunches, few fun activities like movie outings, ice cream Fridays in summer,.. are there.

    Cons

QA team is not good. Communication between senior and junior team members do not follow any ethics. No job security. Very fast paced increased work load. Manager is very partial to certain team members. Leads are not encouraging or supportive. No learning or advancement. If you are in any other department, you have reached the best place with respect to having challenges and innovation and creativity, but not in this department.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are right now. Communications to all the employees from top level management is excellent. Annual review process sucks and need to change the process to make it more justifiable with proofs.

    Cons

None really, they are doing a really good job

I have been working at CU Direct full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

After working here over 5 years I have seen improvements in their marketing/branding which has increased our ability in the field to sell the products. They do value work/life balance.

    Cons

There are not many women in leadership in this company. I can count on one hand the number of full-time women in management positions. Out in the field it's virtually non-existent. The good ol boy network is alive and well here.
They have internal communications (IM) within corporate but you don't allow your field staff to participate which drives a wedge in communication.
Change within corporate is on-going so knowing the contact person for a given product changes every few months.

    Advice to Management

Reevaluate management in the field. See above comments.

The company really cares about it's employees, work life balance and overall culture. they definitely have a lot of perks free food, activities, etc. There is definitely opportunity for growth in this company. They promote internally.

    Cons

Very fast paced, so it can get overwhelming at times. Departments don't always communicate with each other.
