I worked at CXtec full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working in the Rochester office was great. The manager there is a nice person, and really did his best to help us.

    Ok pay for sales positions.

    Cons

There's a manager for everything. Way too many levels of management for what they do.

    Advice to Management

Less managers, less useless meetings, and more valuable training. Half of us never understood exactly what we were selling.

I worked at CXtec full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is free coffee and snacks in the break room, there is a gym downstairs, and the benefits are ok. That is about it.

    Cons

There are so many people in the training process who will tell you to do different things than what your manager wants you to do. It is basically like high school with gossip and favoritism. New people are treated horribly and will be forced to sit alone in a "training pit" for up to a year. Accounts for new people have been picked over up to ten times by older reps and passed on after they have been disqualified.

    Advice to Management

    This is beyond help

I have been working at CXtec full-time

    Pros

    Great work environment.
    Growing product set.
Hands on management and open door policy for improvement.
Relaxed culture with the expectation of working hard.
    Promote from within

    Cons

Lack of focused training programs for some of the support level. Lack of a GM in business unit for an extended period of time hurts momentum slightly.

    Advice to Management

Invest in the support positions to increase the output of the sales force they support. Look outside the box for new hires.

I worked at CXtec full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Free coffee and animal crackers

    Cons

This company manages by belittlement. 4-5 weeks of training on IT, which is pretty good. Then you will be treated like a lesser person (by management and the VP). They don't believe it's the quality of the call, but the quantity. 80 calls a day. Your calls will be monitored by management and the trainers. Not uncommon to get IM's and call backs (or just be yelled at) about your phone call. They will tell you to say it like this...Sometimes 2 different people telling you to say different things, their way, regarding the same call, which makes it hard to concentrate. The people making money here have been there 10-20 years, prior to this industry being overly absorbed. Run fast and far!

    Advice to Management

Treat newer employees with the respect all people deserve.

    Pros

Free snacks and casual dress code

    Cons

Low base, no protected territories, little room to advance

    Advice to Management

Pay people a decent base and provide a real career path

I have been working at CXtec full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

If you can work with some great customers the potential is amazing
The top sellers go on a trip as a reward. You can make some great friends there too

    Cons

Many days feel like ground hog day. Sometimes management is inflexible if you are not performing to their expectations. Much more competition for business than in the past

    Advice to Management

Regional sales managers are constantly in meetings and don't have time to coach their employees on how to improve their performance

    Pros

Benefits are some of the best I've ever seen. Excellent insurance offerings owing to the fact that the company self-insures for health care.

    Cons

From a sales perspective, seems to be slow to react to changing market trends. Still doing the same things that they've been doing for years.

I have been working at CXtec full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for and with. Lots of efforts in place to reward and acknowledge successful sales positions. Sales teams create a fun environment and there are some worthwhile sales contests.

    Cons

Sales territories are spread out amongst many reps and whether you are new or a seasoned rep, you have to keep digging and cold calling on your own. There are no warm sales leads for the most part.

    Advice to Management

Supply additional warm leads to the top 20% or to successful reps who work hard.

    Pros

    Cons

cliquey, high-pressure, a lot of turnover, gimmicky

    Advice to Management

Do a better job at employee retention
