Pros

Overtime, Bonds, Good Salary, Clean deparments and good Janitors

Cons

Racism at its best, makes fun of the Janitors for having a super low salary, they do evils, labor exploitation, corrupt supervisors, sexual depravity, threats, workers who spend their time sleeping, stealing and throwing things on the ground, lazy workers, workers who do not put on the right protection to work, workers who trick the computer into doing that they have already completed the transaction or finished the task indicated on the PC screen, false complaints, Supervisors who put cameras inside the women's locker room, Workers smoking marijuana all over the company are having trouble operating the crane, workers who force, threaten, and offend janitors (There are more things that are even worse, which make the company lose more than it earns, but it's no use writing it all down and posting it here since no one important will do anything to stop these injustices.

Pros

401K Savings Plan with Matching

Cons

If you are considering this company please read on. There are too many "cons" to list but here are a few: * Revolving Door. * Is there even a Training Department? * On-boarding process is not a structured one. * Praise themselves on being innovative, yet have systems in place that are outdated or are capable of doing more, and management will not allow them to do so. Because they are stuck in their ways and "do not" like change or because the changes would cost money and they do not want to put those allocations in their budgets. * Overworked employees weather your salaried or hourly. And if you are salaried and skip your lunch break to work, you get called out by your manager for then leaving at 5 pm, when the normal scheduled ours are 8 AM to 5 PM. * Managers being put into place, despite them stating they did not want to be in a manager role, only because no one applied for/to the open position. And those people that have been put into those roles have no management experience, and it shows. And are not up to date with the most recent practices for that role. * Managers are offered suggestions on ways to better the current processes in their department, by their subordinates, to be either more efficient or with the times/competitive, and they fall on deaf ears. * Non-Adhering Best Practices: If you want to work for a company that does not have processes in place, or if they do, then expect you to follow them or get reprimanded for not going outside of them, this company is for you. Why put any in place if your manager constantly wants you to not follow the process and step outside of them? * High level members of the organization, above a manager role, that have been with the company for over a year+, tell you "I have been here for "x" amount of years and still don't know how everything in this department works".

Pros

The company pays well and offer very good benefits such as 6% 401(k) matching, 3% contribution, premium quality healthcare and 3 weeks PTO. Pay is above average of the industry standard.

Cons

The biggest con is the low quality managers. Extremely hierarchy driven, and too much ego without much competence- that makes the managerial class at Carpenter. They also promote a lot of wrong people in wrong roles just with “noise” instead of proper signals. The company is not growing and it’s been stagnant for decades. They have no intention or direction to grow. The strategy of the company to grow is nothing but a joke. Some high level executives makes some polished slides without any understanding of market and customers. This company doesn’t understand growth and don’t have any bone to enter a new market. It’s also a white boys club with bunch of Alcoa and former consultants running the show. The company wide discrimination against black, brown and anyone non white non Christian is quite evident and an open secret.
