I have been working at Carter's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Gives you a work/life balance. No one, including store manager, can work more than 40 hours without approval. Allows you to have a life, even during holidays. Decent benefits. Great discount. Room for growth within the company.

    Cons

Not competitive with pay. Expectations for tasks is too high considering the little payroll you are given. Hard to keep associates due to payroll.

I have been working at Carter's full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

High standards in everything they do. Growing, stable company.

    Cons

They expect a lot, and everyone works a lot of hours to meet those expectations. They give a lot of development, but career potential is lacking.

    Advice to Management

Loosen up HR's influence. Give people real career growth opportunities, not just lateral moves.

    I worked at Carter's full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - 3 weeks vacation at the start
    - half days before holiday
    - friendly coworkers

    Cons

    - lack of career growth and HR support. They don't have defined career paths.
    - lack of communication between cross teams/department
    - high expectations without reasonable time to execute
    - most teams operate in chaos due to the lack of processes and procedures

To be honest, I felt like a slave while working at Carter's. Most people in the company don't understand the concept of work/life balance. Even on your off days, you will still get harassed. Leaving Carter's is the best thing that's happened to me. I feel alive and free without them. Good Luck to those who are still there.

    Pros

Carter's make very educated and well thought out decisions as it pertains to global company growth and directions, always keeping in mind their employees.

    Cons

There needs to be consistency across departments as it pertains to the company culture and how that culture is executed.
