I worked at Centogene full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good product portfolio, benefits are great if you’re single, salary is decent (until you find out they basically don’t do raises and don’t have a performance review system in place)

    Cons

For starters I don’t write reviews on anything so the fact I’m taking time to write this should really say something off the bat. Constant yelling, being talked down to as if you’re a dog, just overall unprofessionalism by a lot of people (mainly in upper management). Many people just pull rank on you if they disagree with something you say and usually aren’t willing to even compromise as it’s usually their way or the...

    Advice to Management

Without a complete overhaul I’m not sure how anything can be fixed. I would strongly recommend HR start looking at these reviews on here seriously as it’s not just a few people that are unhappy it’s without question the majority.

Dear former employee, I am sorry to hear that you did not have the best experience at Centogene. Some of your points of concern we are already adressing, with the start of company wide appraisal interviews this year and higher digitization. We know that not everything is perfect ...

I worked at Centogene full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Nice colleagues from all over the word and nice facility in Germany

    Cons

Very unethical environment which forces you to work overtime including nights and weekends without a real reason for doing so. If you don't demonstrate to the management and the vice-director that you are willing to dedicate your whole life (and I literally mean WHOLE LIFE, once you start here and you want to keep this job forget about your personal life, you will not have it anymore) for the company you will be kicked-out....

    Advice to Management

    1) Surround yourself with competent people that are really experienced in the field and not with people who just say yes to you. 2) Once you accomplish point 1 then you should stop trying to micro-managing everything and let those competent people you have put at the lead of every department doing their job. I am sure after little time you will see that your employees will start enjoying what they do for living and...

I worked at Centogene full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Employees outside UE can get a job, and as they might not have the option to look for opportunities they stay for longer than they would like to stay. If you are a male - You can get ty prethigh salary and become a head/director/VP of bogus department very fast.

    Cons

Very disturbing money driven, unethical approach. Given that the CEO is a doctor - if you can distance yourself, it might feel like you work on a set of american black humor sitcom. More seriously though, very depressing place where you know that neither your voice nor experience matters.

I worked at Centogene full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Interesting entry point to clinical research activities for highly educated scientists that lack a global understanding of what clinical research involves let alone understand what it does.

    Cons

Volatile work environment set by the erratic behavior of the micromanaging CEO that trickles down and across the entire company. Company has nice facilities (Germany) but just needs to replace senior management that stands up to the out of control CEO who values no one working there. Stay at your own risk. Look elsewhere for a better work environment.

    Advice to Management

Have the CEO step aside and deal with charity projects. Turn the daily operations over to skilled operations' professionals who have stable personalities and a global overview of where the company can have an impact on rare diseases.

    Pros

Some people are very smart Nice location with a growth potential, but the local expat community and diversity are quite limited and, given the lack of processes and resources described below, the company doesn’t help their people accommodate effectively

    Cons

    1. Super heavy, micromanaging top-down presence of the founder and CEO 2. The C-suite is extremely dysfunctional • As a result, no company values or culture, but a toxic work environment • As a result, no professionally developed and managed business processes • As a result, very limited professional and career development opportunities • As a result, the company is experiencing a very high turnover • As a result,...

    Advice to Management

Not sure whether you, Management, are open to listen and act upon. You have already known the issues via the employee engagement survey and multiple exit interviews, but consistently keep letting down so many people and wasting your time, energy and money… The upcoming IPO can be a blessing or curse for cleaning up your mess. Eager to see how it is going to unfold – good luck!

    Pros

The industry itself is very interesting and exciting.

    Cons

If you just got an offer and thinking about accepting it - don't do it. This company is a horrible place with plenty of problems............... 1. Micromanagement. Micromanagement is blood and flesh of this company. If you except some sort of flexibility or freedom this is absolutely not the right place. 2. Blaming culture. Everybody does mistakes.
