      It had potential

      Pros

      A good product that was rapidly improving in terms of scalabilty, stability and functionality. An exceptional sales and solution engineering team and generally good people throughout the company.

      Cons

      Executive leadership and vision were lacking and ultimately the business suffered for it. There was no clear cloud transformation strategy, no clear push to modernize as a DevOps company to push code and innovation faster. In the end, Cherwell was sold, arguably a year too soon.

      Good technology and some great talent across the board

      Pros

      Loved their technology and many of the team members across all silos.

      Cons

      (prior to the Ivanti deal) I really loved this company and the time I spent there and did well. I just never felt that most of executive team really "got" what was really going on - and why customers felt as they did about us (both good and bad), like the Emperor had no clothes on. It saddened me, when they would not accept feedback, and take it to heart. I always felt that as a company, Cherwell's potential was far greater than their results.

      Pros

      Teamwork, compensation, flexibility. Overall, Cherwell has welcoming coworkers and lower management. The product is widely used, but needs massive improvement and is overly complicated in some areas. Pay is good when compared nationally, but is starting to fall behind in Colorado. If employees have to move out of Denver and Colorado Springs to less safe (= less expensive) areas just to afford a tiny modest home, then there is a problem. That said, this problem is EVERYWHERE.

      Cons

      Cherwell was just acquired by Ivanti and the rumor mill is working overtime. Fear of restructuring, job security, and ultimately layoffs is on everyone's mind. A future at this company may be short lived. We are tired of the CEO pushing this as being positive news. For the few at the top of both companies involved, yes. For the hundreds of middle class families just trying to survive an inflated housing market, raised rents, and a PANDEMIC this is not good news.

      Decent benefits, good team members if they haven't already left.

      Cons

      Some of the most toxic management I have ever seen in my life. Upper management is all a clique that only watches after themselves and won’t hesitate to throw employees under the bus to protect themselves from mistakes that they made. Over the last several months, droves of people have been leaving the company and upper management tells everyone “there is nothing to worry about.” They constantly cut corners on things like technology and marketing in order to save a buck and look good to their bosses and then employees are blamed when that inevitably comes back to bite them. Only concerned with their own careers instead of being a good leader and will stop at nothing to help themselves instead of their employees. Once things started getting bad and Glassdoor reviews started tanking, we were legitimately asked to go on and leave good reviews to bring the score up, because potential customers would base decisions on the scores they saw here. You would think you could just run things better and not make life a nightmare for your employees and they would naturally leave good scores. Don't be fooled by the Unlimited PTO. Management will use it all the time, but because they didn't plan ahead you will barely get to use it over fear of being fired. Avoid if you can. Poor management decisions will come back around to bite you even though you had no choice but to follow them.

      Speaking up is punished

      Pros

      After working here, you'll really appreciate your subsequent employers.

      Cons

      The people who stay here do not speak up, no matter how bad the problem, as they have "learned to keep our mouths shut", in the words of several longtime employees. People who speak up, leave, as no action is taken, there is no accountability, cronyism reigns supreme, and retaliation is rampant. Bullies know how to retaliate and discriminate in ways that don't break any laws, and lie when it's your word against theirs. HR is useless. Whatever you do, don't email that hr@ email address, as it is neither private nor confidential. The only useful tool in this company is the anonymous Suggestion Ox. Hopefully the CEO has kept that. People know speaking up is not welcome, so they have to choose to either shut up or leave. That is the "culture" Cherwell has created. The pay is below par and the medical benefits are poor.

      Pros

      I feel valued daily for my work and efforts here. My team is great, and my manager provides excellent vision and guidance. I love the work-life balance this company gives as well, with unlimited PTO that is truly unlimited. No shunning for taking time off when needed.

      Cons

      Lots of change within the company. Change is hard and brings challenges, but I’ve seen overall improvement in the company after these changes are made.
