    Pros

The mission and ambition of the company is infectious. Lots of good people that want the organization to be it's best, willing to put in the work and help each other out.

    Cons

Moving at a very fast pace, process and resources struggle to keep up.

I have been working at CivicPlus full-time

    Pros

    Flexible schedule, no dress code

    Cons

Sales and nontechnical staff are unfamiliar with what is sold to clients. When unreasonable expectations are set by nontechnical staff there is no accountability - the more technical staff are left to fix it and blame shifting is constant.

I worked at CivicPlus full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Overall culture is good if you are in a good department, CEO is inspiring.

    Cons

Workplace is very dependent on department and leadership, some departments are great about development and have positive leadership, others are toxic. Within the last year and a half the company has decreased internal hires greatly, it is not a priority. Engagement and manager surveys are put out but feedback is ignored. Some managers receive ratings of less than 25% on every category and no action or improvements are made. HR department ignores employee feedback and does not follow through after toxic environments are brought to their attention. Harassment and unequal treatment are ignored. Internal and professional development are not a priority of all managers. Strong male preference, becoming a glaring problem, a manager was practically forced to hire a female because it was so clear and that manager had not done so before. Pay doesn't compare in many positions, they rely on an awkward level of loyalty from employees. Good employees leave for better paying jobs, mediocre people stick around. Large bonuses paid "if the company hits its sales goal" but hitting that goal has never happened. Sales goal is missed by several million dollars and continually raised as if raising it will increase the likelihood of hitting the goal. They have a "more sales people = more sales" mentality in a finite demographic which results in smaller territories and funnels, lowering the likelihood of hitting sales goals and lowering morale. Sales reps promoted to the highest level of sales are some of the lowest performing (bottom 30%) and maintain their jobs while sales goals are lowered for them.

    Pros

I worked for CP for a long time and wanted to find another career

    Cons

Diversity. Although the company is located in middle America they hire individuals from across the US, but could do better with diversifying their staff.

I worked at CivicPlus full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Employment, occasionally allowed to work remote.

    Cons

The company wants to buy more and more products and services but refuses to spend the time necessary to ensure the current products are up to par. There are a few departments leadership takes interest in such as sales and account management. Those departments are the first class employees and all others are second class. They get the parties, the bonuses, the pay incentives and fun work activities. The Company brags about the work-life balance but this does not exist. You will get burned out after about a year and leave. Only the favorite departments get any sort of work life balance. Pay is terrible, compensation is low for the area and not competitive at all with Kansas City, Wichita or Topeka. Lots of turnover across the board, executive team to hourly employees. Company acts like this is normal. I have done content work at other companies and turnover was not as high as here.

I have been working at CivicPlus full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some of the best minds in the industry work here. CivicPlus is an incredible education and can help shape your career if you're willing to humbly improve yourself, daily.

    Cons

Professional/emotional immaturity - many are here for the culture, rather than the work itself. Talking the talk vs. walking the walk. Time in career will provide a reality check for some, but CivicPlus can't afford to be the stepping stone for so many of these individuals. Hire up. Don't settle just to fill seats in the less-desired roles.

    Pros

They had great benefits including insurance, PTO, snacks and more. They give you plenty of training to successfully perform your job and there are opportunities to move up.

    Cons

I felt the pay was low for the amount of pressure placed on the BDS team. How they gave bonuses changed and was not a benefit for the employee.

I have been working at CivicPlus full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great people who work very hard and are really good at their jobs. Dependable and friendly. Can’t ask for better co-workers. Great workplace, remote work, and flexible work environment. Management seems reasonable with their expectations and are open to listen to concerns. At this company it is appreciated, and you have a voice. I can’t express how much this means to employees to feel “heard”. Benefits keep getting better. The 2019 benefits have come a LONG way, and I’m excited about the wonderful changes. HR takes surveys, and tries to give the employees what they really need. Keep up the great work.

    Cons

The saying, the only thing constant is change is absolutely accurate. If you can’t go with the flow with changes, continual updates and new processes, this isn’t the job for you. But if you can keep up, get excited, and understand that this is only due to the rapid growth and expansion, the opportunities are there to move up and get a head start on career growth. It’s also an excellent avenue to learn more and take on more.
