    I worked at Clarks part-time

    Pros

Great shoes, big fan of the product. #1 Comfort shoe on the planet. Great employee discount.

    Cons

Decreased hours, indifference to part-time employee needs, high turnover.

    Advice to Management

I witnessed two store managers and an assistant managers quit. The hours are given primarily to two or three key holders and the "part-timers" as they are disrespectfully called are left to fight over the scraps. After getting six hours one week I addressed it with the district manager looked at me and shrugged. The hired a new gal and giving her all the hours to the chagrin of the established part-time employees. This is what they do: over-hire in anticipation of people walking out, which is exactly what happened. Working retail is a dead-end in most cases. At Clark's there is little to no chance of advancement. They do not believe in hiring from within. Twice I witnessed long-time key-holders get passed over for promotion in favor of newcomers with no Clark's background. I love the shoes but working there was unpleasant.

I worked at Clarks part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The stores a nice and usually clean. Management is good depending on your store.

    Cons

No room for growth. Working on Thanksgiving until 2AM and then Black Friday at 5AM isn't cool. Especially when the higher-ups are at home with their families.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing...don't forget what it's like to be in the store on the sales floor.

I have been working at Clarks (Less than a year)

    Pros

    50% discount
1 free pair of shoes a year

    Cons

They cut every manager and assistant managers pay across the entire US.
Making unrealistic and unreachable goals to make excuses to shut down many stores within the next couple of years
Expect too much of management with little staff or hours to give to them
Always want more- at Clarks you're never doing good enough.
Once a great company to work for but now has started to not care about their employees only want to save and make money

    Advice to Management

Stop making so many changes. You're micromanaging all of the stores when you don't even know how to run them. You overload your stores but still expect us to be able to do it all. Bring back the pay scale, you're going to lose all of your good employee who will just leave to competitor companies and drive business away from you, because with the new pay you won't be able to afford top quality staff anymore. Care about your employees!!!

I have been working at Clarks part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

the discount is great! it's 50% off on top of whatever promo is taking place. They are also super flexible with days you can't work, and no penalties if you can't work last minute.

    Cons

there are very few hours available for part time employees, even though there are only 9 people on the entire team and we are the best selling store in the region. some of the people I work with are also very awkward and uncomfortable to interact with.
