I have been working at Computer Data Source (CDS) full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Closeness between employees, clean, ability to work from home (with management approval prior), mid level management communication, year after year growth, and friendly owners.

    Cons

Life/Work balance impossible, Higher Management require you to work harder not smarter, doing work outside of your current position (could also be a pro) however with that said means more work overall, no bonuses, minimal raises, and expensive benefits that seem to increase year after year.

    Advice to Management

Higher management believes they run the show, when they are unaware of any daily processes.

I have been working at Computer Data Source (CDS) full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good core team of employees that work well together. Alot of teamwork and closeness with each other . Diversity in lower non management roles.

    Cons

Management is clueless and usually disconnected from the staff. They often have no clue on day to day process or functions. Workloads are extreme with little to no appreciation or recognition. Upper management is based more on friendships and politics rather then who actually does which function which makes getting any answers a tedious process.

    Advice to Management

Stop assuming and talk to your employees. Stop hiring more managers when the general staff is overburdened. And start looking at new talent where some of the previous management should step aside.

    Pros

Management asks for a desired result but lets you work out the details. (This can also be a significant Con) Empowers the individual to take initiative ( Con - does not reward success.)

    Cons

Engineers spread too thin. No on-call incentive, No bonus program, Cost of benefits is higher than larger companies. Overall lack of structure

    Advice to Management

Establish a fair and balanced pay structure based on national averages with incentives for working outside of the standard 40 hour work week. Consider standardizing processes and hiring more people to distribute the work load effectively.
