    Pros

Smallish company, makes you feel like family. Good benefits. Christmas parties are absolutely amazing. Looked forward to them every year.

    Cons

Oil and gas related. Up and down with the economy though buffered by a year or so. Could use more process as some aspects are all over the place.

    Advice to Management

None. Overall happy with the experience

I worked at Computer Modelling full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A really stable company even in economic downturns, so stock options have been quite valuable in the past.

Very positive culture and helpful, friendly people. The company is small enough that you can get to know almost everyone. Located near the University, which helps avoid traffic. Flexible hours. Very casual dress code for R&D team.

Lots of opportunity to take initiative if you want to.

    Cons

The Calgary team is split in two, which can make communication a little more difficult. However, they are currently building a beautiful new office, which will fix that!

Also, I'm sure it varies but I found it to sometimes be on the "comfortable" side. It's easy to just coast. If you want a challenge it probably has to come from within as opposed to from someone else in the company.

    Advice to Management

Hire a full-time User Experience expert! Someone who can create a roadmap for improving consistency between our products and improve the overall user experience from first contacting us to signing on to installing and using our software to training and support and beyond. There are a lot of people in the company who really care about User Experience but they all have too much else to worry about.
