    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Custom Disability Solution full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have worked in claims for a long time and seen a lot of different management styles, but CDS is by far the most impressive of all. It's pretty amazing to see managers be so hands on with claims and help out their staff when needed. Very positive work environment and co-workers are hands down, the best around!

    Cons

Claims are the same everywhere, the leadership and management are what should be focused on, not the job itself.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work!!

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Custom Disability Solution full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, pay, coworkers, high cubes for privacy

    Cons

Heavy workload, incompetent management who are catty and talk bad behind people's backs, poor claims management practices, promotions based on if you are part of the clique, not based on qualifications

    Advice to Management

Management should be forced to handle a claim block to bring them back to reality.

    Pros

close to the mall. Fair salary

    Cons

Senior Leadership is clueless about what people do there that waste time. They talk the talk but do not have the ability to see their vision through. Deadlines are not met with no accountability

    Advice to Management

They need to be open to new ideas

I worked at Custom Disability Solution full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Vacation and sick time are generous- you will need to take advantage of this

    Cons

understaffed and underresourced- adjusters were never able to come close to keeping up with caseloads leading to dissastisfied/irate customers and a demoralized work environment

    Advice to Management

middle management is encouraging but they have no tools or power to change this toxic environment- Senior management appears to be more interested in short term loans than paying claims or walking their talk- bottom line a step above a fly by night outfit- stay away

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Custom Disability Solution full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Down to earth people, fairly laid back office

    Cons

Compensation was about $5K lower per year compared to other claim organizations.

I got a really weird vibe from this place in my interview but took the job anyhow just to try it out. Definitely a strange office environment right up to the day I left.

Terrible workload in STD. Some people were super overworked, while others slacked off. For example: some people would be coming into the office at 9 and leaving by 2 every day while others were always working long, late hours due to working with NIGHTMARE sales offices. It all came down to what piece of the business you were assigned to.

I guess if you're one of the lucky people to be assigned an easy sales office, you might be OK. In the end I decided this job wasn't worth the stress for the money.

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to claim workloads!

    Pros

This is a growing company that is on the right track after bouncing back from financial trouble and a change in upper management.

    Cons

Small company where personalities count more than skills and knowledge when it comes to promotions.

    Advice to Management

Do not just rely on middle management to feed you information, because all they give you is what they think you want to hear.
