The culture at Descript is driven by collaboration. It's built by the love for both the product and the teams behind it. As a series B startup of nearly 90 folks, Descript is exceptionally mindful of the pacing of its growth in all directions. As a current employee, here is an insider's look: -We are a remote-first company that does a really great job of staying connected with each other across the US and CA. I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything by not sitting in the same building, or even the same time zone. -I'm trusted to do my work in the ways that I feel most productive, and I am empowered speak up when I have feedback, need resources, or have questions. -My lead and the cross-functional teams I work with are all kind, responsive, and inspiring folks to work with. -Everyone is valued equally, and I don't feel a sense of hierarchy or arbitrary ranking of importance from titles. -Leadership listens intently to the needs of their teams, and is transparent about the how's and when's as we continue to develop. -I genuinely look forward to work every day. Lots of laughs and good times here.
Cons
No true cons come to mind. All told, I'd say let's just keep doing what we're doing. Everything about Descript feels incredibly special, and I hope to see that only enhance as we scale. Change is inevitable (and good!), and I think we are well-positioned to change in a way that feels authentic to where we are at now.
