I worked at Device Inside full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

As someone who was just fresh out of college, this company is a good stepping stone to get professional experience and learn set of skills you probably never knew about beforehand in smartphone industry. You'll get the necessary time and training to start out even if you have no prior skills.

    Cons

There is no upward mobility in this company. No matter how hard, dedicated, passionate you are working at this company, there is no room to grow up the ladder. So keep that in mind. This is also predominantly a Korean work culture company where most employees are born and raised in Korea. So if you were born in US and are an English native, there will be that language, culture and mindset differences that may be a big con if you aren't able to adapt.

    Advice to Management

Options or ability to move up the ladder with higher position. Due to no upward mobility, this results with most people not willing to stay over a year.

I worked at Device Inside full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I agree with the post from Nov 2nd in the fact that it's a good stepping stone if you have little to no experience. Learn as much of the tool and skillset they teach you. Every single person at Device Inside loves to complain about their job and how crappy the company is but they stay because they aren't getting hired elsewhere and I promise you it's not due to lack of trying. Take it for what it is and get the necessary skills it takes to get out.

    Cons

The inefficiency of the front office is truly alarming. I don't know how this place still operates. It markets itself as a tech company without any of the tech benefits. Old school operations: 1. working long hours means you must be working hard which anyone in the 21st century knows to be completely false and inefficient. Upwards mobility is non-existent. Because of their traditional Korean company mindset, it is extremely micro-managed, puts too much emphasis on formalities & ranks, and also operates top down. The only thought in the owners' mind is - how can I make more money off this labor? What other benefit/wage can I cut down to make more money? Oh, that's another thing, expect at least 7-10 changes in wage, policies, etc. a year.

    Advice to Management

Just market the company as a temp agency- that's really what it is anyway- at least this way people won't have any expectations or benefits of a real company.

I worked at Device Inside (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good entry into QA and mobile software development field. Opportunity to work with tented projects.

    Cons

Limited growth and training. Very old fashioned management structure. Your tenure is almost always more important than you abilities and skills. No benefits at all. Development process is very closed off, and they pretty much throw you away if they don't need you anymore. No flexibility with schedule and they look down upon personal time taken. I immediately took a better position elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Value your people. Give them opportunity to grow, rather than treat them as disposable.
