I worked at Devoteam full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The package they offer you is good and maybe even slightly better than the competitors but this may be due to the problem that they have trouble recruiting and trouble retaining the staff which they manage to recruit.

    Cons

They constantly tell you that they are not a body shop however never has the term ‘body shop’ been more applicable. When you are at a customer you are referred a ‘revenue stream’ and when you are on the bench you are referred to as a ‘profile’. The idea that you are a person is a foreign concept.

The company is run by a bunch of bigoted old men so if you are not white, male, Flemish and over 50 you can forget about fitting in. After being a successful revenue stream for over 4 years I was forced out after having a baby.

The company is incredibly badly run for example every company system is access via a different URL with a different user name and password. There is no training plan any training you do will be based on whatever the latest buzz word is with no thought and consideration to your future career plan

    Advice to Management

You are a consultancy company so your consultants (who are people not revenue streams or profiles) are your most valuable asset therefore treat them with respect and support them. They may then decide to stay.

I have been working at Devoteam (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible start/end of work hours, locality (Prague 1), good team environment and size (about 40 employees in Prague), company is running on Google apps.

    Cons

Not many promoted work opportunities along European branches, fulfillment of some of the company values is not always visible. Easy salary negotiation at the beginning but quite tough later on.

I worked at Devoteam (More than a year)

    Pros

It pays the bills, and that's about it.

    Cons

Not a real employer, just a CV vendor.

    Advice to Management

Dare to translate the group strategy to Belgium rather than shiver for France.
Devoteam Belgium embraced short term thinking by the book. And they are surprised by a headcount turnover of approximately 15%. This might be the average for a bodyshopper, but then don't sell yourselves as consultants.
Most employees at Devoteam have no connection whatsoever with their employer, so they don't go that extra mile which management expects. That's because management only listens to France and not to their employees.

I worked at Devoteam full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Nice people to work with
Very competent colleagues in tele communications, cloud and information technology disciplines
Great pan-European security community of subject matter experts
The ability to deliver complete solutions, not just advise on selection.

    Cons

The CIO's best friend - but often influence is limited to the CIO office for good and bad.
Less international assignments than one might expect from a Pan-european company
Product partnership dependencies may become a liability when newer innovative solutions appear

    Advice to Management

Make sure to build new leaders in order to stay nimble and on top of the market.
