Pros

- Work from office and home. - Nice and down to earth coworkers. - Solid 401k plans - Health, Dental, and Vision are 100% covered by the company as of 1/2023. - It's great job if you're looking to get into a start up or start your career somewhere. - You don't need to request time off 2 weeks in advance. - Smart coworkers who can show you a thing or two.

Cons

- Office is loud and overcrowded, you can't think. In Marketing, you need silence to write and create. - Marketing department is basically spaghetti thrown against the wall. - No skills as Property Manager are transferable to this role except talking about your experience. - I was asked to do things in marketing that just felt scammy and disingenuous. - You don't actually write about your experiences in blogs. I did once and was immediately told to change everything about it. There are strict guidelines to follow, so just know that. - They want to be really involved in your social life outside of work, but are quick to cut you off once you leave the company. - They pride themselves in encouraging you to work independently. What that means is that the necessary support you need for your position does not exist. I was told multiples times, "don't let anybody get in your way". Code for you're basically on your own. - This community manager position is not for a seasoned property manager. You go from calling the shots in your corner office to being in the pit with everyone else. A regressive move with little support. - I come from the PM world, not tech. I needed help from a colleague to set up and use filming equipment, who was very resentful about it. - I was hired for my expertise in property management, not to be thrown into learning the ins and outs of how to use expensive film equipment. It was definitely an added stresser on top of an already unreasonable work load. #notmyjob - Employee conflicts are not addressed. If it does not fit into their narrative about positive work culture, it does not exist. - No PTO will be paid out upon leaving since you don't accumulate hours the traditional way. - A particular person in upper management is not very friendly, I was frequently and he has a reputation to be aggressive with people. They're not AS nice as they tout themselves to be. - It's like any work place with pros and cons. However, Doorloop does not believe in cons. It's like working in the Wizard of Oz, a little dystopian - everyone's always smiling and problems just don't exist. - Pay is pretty awful for this position. I was fortunate enough to not be paying rent when I accepted this job, so I could afford to accept the max they were offering (which is not a lot). -Location in Miami Beach is not central to nearly anybody. Getting to the beach adds 30+ mins to everyone's already long commute.

We are very sorry that your role at DoorLoop didn’t work out, and we took your feedback and comments very seriously. You were a highly valued member of the team, and we provided you with all the resources to help you succeed. This included monthly meetings with clearly laid out expectations, as well as funds to hire any freelancers as needed. First and foremost, we want to emphasize that our priority absolutely is to maintain a culture of independence and autonomy, free from micromanaging, where team members have the freedom to build out their own workflows and task management processes. This does not mean you should have felt that you didn’t have support; to the contrary, we’ve built a strong team to ensure collaboration. We were always available with an open-door to offer guidance, suggestions, advice and any funds or resources you would have requested, in order to make sure that goals are met. With that said, we understand that this level of freedom isn’t the perfect fit for everyone. The same goes for any issues with your co-workers. We place emphasis on building a team of like-minded individuals who work well together and are adept at conflict resolution and open lines of communication. We encourage everyone to first handle their issues amongst themselves. This goes hand-in-hand with our emphasis on autonomy and independence. If there is ever an issue that inhibits work from getting done, or makes someone feel unsafe or uncomfortable, we are quick to step in and help out. As for salaries, we pay above-market rates based on a candidate's experience and levels of expertise. We have a system in place to do extensive salary research to make sure of this. In addition to this research, we take candidates’ desired salary ranges–which we always ask for early in the interview process–into account in order to make a fair, motivating offer. If there’s ever an issue with salary, we encourage open discussion well in advance. With our Unlimited PTO policy, you only worked 61 days at DoorLoop and took over 2 weeks off, something that would likely not be acceptable anywhere else. As a fun startup company, we strive to create a positive working environment for everyone, giving back to our team in every way possible including great benefits, monthly classes, team outings, and much more. We wish we heard your comments in our surveys, or the weekly and monthly one-on-ones, so we could have an opportunity to address them, as we know this review does not accurately reflect the actual work environment, culture and growth for 99% of our team. If anyone ever has any concerns, we please ask that you speak to us openly, and we will do everything in our power to make you happy. We welcome an opportunity to discuss this further as our doors are always open to both current and former members of the DoorLoop family.

Genuinely Impressed by Leadership

Pros

While at times the grind can be difficult, anything worth it will be. I take comfort in knowing that no matter the difficulty and challenge of the day, the leadership team is working just as hard to grow this company into the absolute powerhouse it can and will be. At the end of the day, we're all human, and through highs and lows, I believe they understand that. Any company you ever work for will not be perfect, but I think it's the willingness to embrace that that makes DoorLoop what it is. I love our team, and I love our mission. To the moon!

Cons

There are some growing pains, and this is still a young company. While I do believe the company does a great job of emphasizing work/life balance, don't come in thinking this is a low intensity job where you'll never have to work more than 40 hrs/wk. You get what you put into it, and when you put in the extra time, it pays off.
