Pros

Work-Life-Balance is the only thing going for it.

Cons

ATTENTION PLEASE!!! READ BEFORE YOUR INTERVIEW MY EXPERIENCE WITH ADP: I was in sales for 8 years and wanted to have a work-life balance for my family, so I decided to resign from my previous job to come to ADP. That was the worst mistake I've ever made in my entire life. You aren't selling anything you are trying to scare current ADP clients to upgrade using state compliance policy and updates to increase their bill. The territories given to you were already called and emailed by 5 other reps. You are a telemarketer trying to pull blood from rocks. All the small business owners are stressed due to barely surviving the hard times during the pandemic, but we act like we are providing a solution for the company so they won't get audited and fined. The company is a churn & burn company with their employees. You are just a number to the company and another cog in the system. They do referral bonuses for employees since the turnover rate is so high. The recruiters can't keep up with the hiring process since they have to fill 30+ positions if not more every month. They changed the companies prerequisites to no degree and experience of 1 year of sales since they are firing and rehiring every day. They also just put out intern sales jobs now to fill the roles because they are in dire need to fill the spots. I took the job and my sales manager resigned 2 weeks after I was hired. The company didn't fill this role until 7 months later! I was put with a mentor that wasn't even on my sales team. There would be days close to weeks I wouldn't hear from him. The training is like a puzzle nothing is in a book or structured format like previous jobs I've had. The training was virtual and was irrelevant and just took time away from you learning the actual role. It blows my mind how there are positive reviews about this company which they do have an internal committee like if you were in high school which could be a factor in these reviews. The so-called vibes are for college grads and high school students. A lot of flirting and flings in the office like it's a frat house. They push you to come into the office yet it's so loud in the office you can't hear yourself speak at times. I was put on a performance plan where if I miss my quota you are instantly fired. No managers reached out to help me or assigned me to another trainer. When I was put on the performance plan my quota was doubled so they made it harder to obtain. I've hit my quota by myself before. When I state by myself they want you to hit your quota, but also want you to Warm-T other reps to split deals. The company has a way to tell reps to split deals which makes it harder to obtain your quota. The main reason is that makes the reps put in double the work to make the company more money in the end. Also when you are doing splits with another rep the company tells you to lie to the current client and tell them you are getting your specialist on the line which is just another sales rep! The territories you get to call/sell are managed by your Sales executive leaders which have no idea how to distribute the correct territories. I was given a territory that had half of the territory with only one employee. You can't even upsell them if they are the sole proprietor of their own business. All they care about is how many calls you've made which is calling the same clients you have spoken with already since you don't get a new territory until 6 months later. I would not recommend this company for my own small business company. I would get bombarded by 5 other sales reps calling and spam emailing me 10-15 times in a month. I REPEAT DO NOT FALL FOR THE FALSE ADVERTISEMENT OF THIS COMPANY. RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN.

Pros

Resume Gold! Having the name on your resume opens doors because people know you can survive a high-volume, high-complexity environment. That’s where the benefits end.

Cons

Pay: It’s a joke. They expect specialized, expert-level work and deep tax knowledge for a base salary that is way below the market. They use the big name as an excuse to underpay you. Work/Life Balance: You are never truly off. To hit the impossible quotas, people are forced to work off the clock just to keep up. Management knows this is the only way the work gets done, but they look the other way so they don't have to address the workload. Management: They are manipulative and not leaders. Instead of helping with the workload, they use moving goalposts and vague promises of growth to keep you running. There is no advocacy for employees. Make sure to get everything in writing. Some get amnesia. Quantity over Quality: It’s a sweatshop for data. You’re forced to rush through complex setups just to hit a Go-Live count to appease Sales. Accuracy is key, but it often takes a backseat to volume, which is a nightmare for anyone who cares about doing the job right. No Room to Grow: There is no real way to move up. ADP is a lateral move company, and that’s only if your management doesn’t stand in your way and prevent you from leaving for another internal team.
