Pros

Good work/ life balance for some groups. Depending on your group in the NYC area, you may primarily work from home, which saves lots of time and money on commuting. Good PTO (4 weeks and the ability to carry over 10 unused vacation days). 9% 401K match (3% contributed by the company regardless of whether you contribute anything + an additional company match up to 6%) . Decent fund options.

Cons

Morale is very low. No opportunities for advancement. AIG has not provided cost-of-living adjustments, raises or promotions in years and they continue to cut expenses wherever they can. They also continue to reduce staff each year while hiring well paid executives from outside the company. This all leads to situations where people are overworked, underpaid and in fear of losing their jobs.

Pros

Good compensation structure, bonuses were higher that the industry average. Freedom to be entrepreneurial and do what I thought would work in my territory

Cons

Zonal management had a lot of turn over at the time, some not qualified to lead.
