Pros
I am a lane server at one of the Bowler bowling centers. I have been for the past two years in between school for the winter/spring season on weekends. I enjoy the energy of the entertainment industry which is what makes working at the lanes a great and positive experience. During the winter season is when business picks up. I love the fast pace and pick up pf the winter season. its all a hustle. As a lane server you make most of your money off of your tips. So you must be on your p & q's if your trying to make money for the night. I do enjoy that we get paid more then the average hourly wage $2.15 as a waitress.
Cons
i don't see many downsides. Although i do wish the bowling machinery wasn't so out lived. it isn't a huge issue the pin and ball return equipment is often a problem. and on a busy night it is pretty stressful for the mechanics on shift to go running to the back for the constant call for " gate down on lane 15" or " ball return on lane 3". i couldn't see how this can be handled because i don't know much about the bowling machinery but if we can figure out a solution it would definitely be helpful to some of the mechanics.
of course you will get the nasty customers but you will deal will rude people any place you work. overall working here has been a positive experience for me.
