Pros
Good variety of work Travel paid for...
Cons
1. The challenge wasn't the work, it was trying to find something to do in the first place. First on-call for a week was ok, followed by 4 weeks of having nothing to do. 2. My first day at work was a complete shambles. I was told by the recruitment agency I would probably get shipped out to Dallas on a project for 3 months. I showed up in the Cork office and found out they had paid for a flight to Dallas for me and forgot to tell me. 3. That project we worked on was building hundreds of servers for Gateway Computers. They made lots of their own staff redundant and once the servers were built, Gateway pulled the plug and took their newly built servers out of the ACS datacentre. Stinks. 4. Corporate waffle constantly rammed down your throat. "One ACS", company philosophy and image is so, SO false. 5. Morale boosting exercises consisted of a weekly conference call where, no matter what you said, the response was always "good job!" 6. I got fired (the relief!!), the guy that replaced me lasted a week cos they didn't tell him he had to work weekends, another guy told the boss to shove the job and walked out, then the boss left, then everybody else in our team left. It was without doubt, THE WORST JOB I'VE EVER HAD.
