Pros
Salary is reasonable for an entry level position. Working at an Allstate office can make you feel as part of a family/team. Work variety is good - can meet with customers face-to-face (on a walk-in basis), over the phone, or by email. Underwriting, IT, and Operations back-end support are there to help. Career opportunities are present and opportunities to get an education (especially to pursue CIP designation) are there and greatly encouraged.
Cons
Management can be very rigid and corporate. Throughout a regular workday the volume of tasks and communication required can be extremely demanding and overwhelming. Negativity surrounding insurance and having to deal with emotions demands more training in Emotional Intelligence (not provided). Training is extremely subpar. Intranet is extremely unorganized and not easy to navigate.
