Pros
Friendly colleagues Competitive salaries if hired externally Plenty of resources/trainings/specific courses if you're interested to develop your skills or learn new ones Easy to apply internally or refer candidates
Cons
Almost all departments work in chaos mode (too many tools for too many different things, no accountability and a general lack of documentation) - this is 'excused' by the Day 1 mentality. Almost no real support as a new hire (unless you constantly ask for it) No real chances of promotion for L2-L5s Big disadvantage if you apply internally - the compensation is considerably smaller than if you're hired externally No transparency for yearly plans and a total lack of financial planning from higher management (which of course leads to no opportunities for promotion, attrition and a ridiculous increase in compensation) Useless benefits
