Pros

Depending on the team you can have great work life balance. Some non monetary perks like $15 credit in the cafeteria, snack on each floor, and giveaways all the time. Many super nice people overall in the company and you can make some actual friends.

Cons

Perks like the $15 caf credit seem great, but they inflated the prices in the cafeteria that it will only get you so far. Promotions pre-panademic were relatively easier to come by. Currently trying to get promoted is an uphill battle because leaders do not want to let go of talent, as well lower amount of open roles. There is a lot of favortism within the company and certain groups usually hire promote people of their own certain groups. Pay at the below B40 levels is not even close to competitors, at B40 you only then start to look at a wage competitors like Capital One pay their Sr. Managers. Moral among lower band levels is pretty low because all of the above. Only reason people are stay is because compare to the rest of the industry and other companies today, Amex seems the most stable. This is the only reason I would recomend someone to join.

Pros

- Complimentary lunch and starbucks everyday - On-site clinic for basic check ups - Hybrid

Cons

you will be taking phone calls every minute of the day. There will come a time where you feel like at the bottom of the world. You will ask yourself "is my role in life to help people reset their password online and assist them in logging in?" You cannot use the bathroom whenever you want, they have time coding that if you "abuse" them you will be flagged and subject to discipline. You have to give world class service but at the same time rush them off the phone or else you are not getting paid a good bonus. You will quickly find yourself gasping for air and time to relax when you take 50+ calls a day , you will feel drained. When is finally time to move up there is a high chance you will be paid less than you're current role as there are no bonuses in higher roles.
