Pros

The people you work with are great. Teams do work well together once you get used to al of them. That can be a bit hard when you are first learning. The benefits are solid, but not great. In light of the pandemic, they have made changes that are good.

Cons

You cannot grow and gain skills in your role. If you want to move forward in the company, you need to do trainings on everything. There's no hands-on experience. There's no desire to up-skill employees. Senior Management wants everyone to be the same type of manager and worker. When you want or try to do thing differently, they tell you to stop. There's fear of trying new things and taking a chance on someone. Instead, it's all about playing it safe. Things take way too long to complete, with some exceptions. For some projects, you need to have 3-4 teams involved in the decision process. That's not efficient. Everyone is stuck in back to back meetings all day. Processes are inefficient. There is never enough time or people to get work done. You always seem to be on a small and mighty team trying to do the work of a large team. Based on how projects are run, there's never an end game. There's never a light at the end of the tunnel.

Pros

They have fantastic pay for the position you're in, and they teach you interesting and engaging utility of modern technology mixed with legacy fundamentals. I've learned quite a bit while AmEx while getting paid more than fairly - I'd recommend a stretch here to whomever may be reading this!

Cons

The Company is huge, and at times it may take more than a little time to get recognized for your abilities and the growth you've had. There's a reason there is a "only way up is out" reputation exists for some enterprise companies...
