Pros

Ancestry.com has a great company culture, and management listens. The HR staff is second to none and will update you on job opening within the company. If your full-time the benefits packages are amazing. If you are a college student looking for a flexible part-time job look no further. Free ice cream, soda, coffee, cereal, fruit, and full meals are super cheap because the company subsidizes the onsite cafe.

Cons

If you are looking into member services(the call center) the company culture is completely different. It is in a separate building, training is top notch, and the current management is empathetic. However, several years ago a certain manager squashed the culture of the call center and turned it into a grinder. He got promoted.

Pros

Great company culture, supportive team, smooth onboarding process, strong career stability, and meaningful work. My interview experience was very positive, and the recruiting and onboarding teams were helpful, responsive, and professional throughout the process.

Cons

There is always a learning curve when joining a new company, especially while understanding internal systems and processes, but the team has been very supportive.

Pros

The work-life balance is pretty good. I have never had issues taking time off when I needed to. The pay and benefits are on par with other, similar jobs in the area. There are many long-time employees at the company.

Cons

The company is product-led, so leadership is more concerned with shipping new features than they are with making sure what they have already shipped works well. Restricted stock unit grants always come with a one year vesting cliff, whether an employee has worked at the company for two years or twenty years. They do not appear to trust that long-time employees will continue to stay at the company, even though they have many long-time employees.
