Pros

Ann Taylor is a decent place to work but stay away from Loft or any other division. The pay is decent (above minimum wage for sure) but don't let them step all over you.

Cons

I used to work for AT before switching over to LOFT. The difference is night and day. Although I'm not sure how corporate of AT is as I wasn't a sales lead before switching to LOFT, I can say with certainty that at least the LOFT division treats their employees like crap. You have to be full time to get any benefits but as a sales associate or sales lead you cannot be full time (even for tuition assistant). The company switches up their marketing at the last second and adds on work for you on the floor as if you don't have enough to do. They don't give hours where needed for stores that are actually bringing in money and they change their minds about everything at the last second. Overall this division of AT is a hot mess.

Pros

Good entry-level retail job, especially for beginners. The work environment is generally positive, and scheduling can be flexible depending on store needs. It’s a solid place to gain retail experience, especially if you’re new to it. Employee discount is 75% in-store and 50% online, except for clearance.

Cons

Upper management tends to overlook smaller store issues, which may later develop into larger problems if not addressed early. There's also a strong customer-first approach that sometimes feels one-sided, in which difficult customers are often accommodated even when they're in the wrong. This can occasionally be frustrating for employees trying to enforce store policies. But hey, that's hospitality. It's still a good place nonetheless because of the store team.
