Pros

Loved my colleagues! They knew the business and helped me learn a lot. I would not be at the place in my career without them. There were also carrier options in choosing benefits which I liked.

Cons

Management was awful. My boss never provided any formal training (I never did the new employee orientation because I was expected to start renewing accounts immediately), and when I expressed concerns about the program and the systems, he completely passed it off as an annoyance. I never knew exactly what my role was despite asking for more clearly defined roles, so I ended up doing everything. We were expected to work like robots, including through holidays, since management only cared about revenue. I also felt that there were holes in the ethics of the program in terms of how renewals were handled. Once I realized that the program and management were unwilling to change, I decided it was time to leave. Aon is so big, that sometimes management doesn't see problems with colleague morale and executives need to pay attention to that. I would have stayed if I was able to transfer to another business unit. I think that your manager defines your experience at Aon, and my boss was one of the worst people I've ever worked for.

Pros

Clearly defined career ladder Exposure to a wide range of clients and projects.

Cons

Inconsistent team culture. Some teams feel clique-oriented, so it's difficult for new employees to integrate. Training can be limited, with a strong expectation to learn independently.
