Pros

At least you have a job / salary

Cons

Management who are not up to the job of actually managing people. Poor career progression (preventing capable employees from developing and moving in to better roles) - this is promised at interview and never delivered on. Lack of support for those who are off on sick leave or have a disability. Relocating staff to regional offices Lack of a proper welcome / introduction/ training programme for new employees. Redundancies - getting rid of good, loyal staff because of cutbacks, then employing new staff who are cheaper and less knowledgeable in the same roles. Managers lack of knowledge of theirs was staff job roles. Graduates are given priority over other staff with regard to training and career progression. Micro-management.

Pros

Clearly defined career ladder Exposure to a wide range of clients and projects.

Cons

Inconsistent team culture. Some teams feel clique-oriented, so it's difficult for new employees to integrate. Training can be limited, with a strong expectation to learn independently.
