I have never worked at a more dysfunctional company in my life, and Marketing leadership is wholeheartedly to blame for this. Poor planning, a clear lack of focus, almost no process, and inconsistent distinction between roles and responsibilities made otherwise doable tasks nearly impossible to complete.
Leadership was far more invested in playing politics and moving chess pieces than working to rebuild department culture, better understand the customer, and inspire prospects. Favoritism was rampant, which was apparent based on who was promoted, high performers were rarely acknowledged, and some of the best and brightest were either laid off or quit.
I was part of the most recent layoffs, and after leaving this company, my mental health has never been better. If you’re a naturally high performer, you will plateau at this company relatively quickly. There are far better companies with more skilled and empathetic leaders. Take your pick.
