Pros
It allows for flexibility. They are great compared to other pharma companies, but its really about your manager and I have a WONDERFUL manager. The division you work for is also very important. AstraZeneca is more about the result than the process of getting there. You dont HAVE to follow some ridiculous sales model as long as you make the sale. Not super hard on closing either. From my understanding, the training department may actually be stepping away from closing at all. Sales meeting are super positive and motivating. THey give out a lot of awards and give a lot of recognition.
Cons
The benefits may not be as good as some other companies. They are going through lay offs galore right now, although this is the case with just about every company in the pharmaceutical industry at this time. If you are set on pharma, AZ is the way to go however i would probably suggest steering clear of the industry all together. Now, Ive also heard horrow stories of working with bad managers. In times when people are worried about losing their jobs, they are looking in their own best interest and will throw you under the bus to get ahead.
