Pros

During the three years that I have been employed at an AutoNation dealership, I have been impressed with how much focus is placed on improvement. Instead of reating on its laurels of being the largest auto retailer in the country, they seem always to be looking for ways we can better serve our customers. This attitude is not only good for the bottom line, but it also gives each employee the feeling that their job is an important fuction. The available training, along with the career opportunities that are always presented, make me feel that I'm at a company that wants me to grow with them.

Cons

None that I can think of.

Cons

Luxury brand salespeople beware. I have been in luxury auto sales for 16 years. Autonation acquired our store. Their payplan is the exact same one across the country for every store. Ours even says "trucks" and we don't sell trucks. Never did. We are getting paid so little that it's actually insulting. I went from making $100k+ per year to now wondering if I will even make $50k in a year. It's actually terrifying along with insulting. They also make unattainable quotas to meet and won't hesitate to fire an employee who has been with a company for over 20 years for not meeting their unattainable quotas. After they fired 1/8 of our sales staff, those of us left are stretched too thin, we don't have enough coverage to help the clients, we can't help them properly, we can no longer provide a luxury experience, we're burnt out, and it will affect our CSI which will affect our already too-low pay. We're working harder, smarter, and longer for literal pennies. It's absolutely miserable and it's cruel.
