Pros

AvePoint's backup and RBS technology are best of breed and pretty easy to sell. The rest of the DocAve platform is ok but should really be better considering AvePoint's length in the space and the price they are asking.

Cons

Horrible systematically cheap, petty and unhelpful culture. Absolutely no team environment. Getting help can be harder than doing it yourself. If you are in sales and have some technical background you have a better chance of succeeding because getting technical help can be horrible. Most TS resources are ok but not great. There are a few great ones but they are nearly impossible to get access to. Expenses are a nightmare to submit - the china team will question a $4 subway lunch. If you spend more than your $50 max on meals, it'll come out of your salary, even if you are with a client. Quotas increase 30% year over year independent of market conditions or overall performance. Commissions are often not paid or grossly underpaid and you have to fight with accounting and management to get paid. You'll be called to training and internal meetings 10 days of the month and then berated on why you didn't do enough cold calling. Little to no regional marketing. Getting any marketing resources or lead generation is a struggle. HR is horrible. Worst I've ever encountered. It's like a sorority house of nitwits who screw up everything. Simple HR questions go unanswered or screwed up. There is a single channel for addressing issues and that is to your manager where things will stop. Salary and Benefits are well below industry standard. Strategy changes completely every quarter. Product development is focused on a space that is very competitive and their offerings are extremely immature (compliance and DLP). Regular firings to make bottom line or appear profitable. No correlation to actual performance and chance of dismissal. (I wasn't fired but saw good people fired without cause). Extremely competitive environment - you can have as many as 7 sales reps working the same region as you. Avepoint is a company where the really poor are fired quite quickly and the really good get fed up and leave before 2 years, leaving the mediocre to advance.
