Pros

As an Operations Manager at this location one of the few pros in this position is the other Operations Managers that work along side you. Everyone in this position had a mutual respect for each other and truly worked as a team.

Cons

Everyone at the Philadelphia International Airport location acknowledges and will openly tell you that it is the worst location in the country (including upper management). Employee retention is horrible so the location is constantly understaffed, fleet managers care only about revenue so the location is constantly overbooked and has no cars on the lot, and upper management sets unreal expectations. It is a 24/7 operation so you may be assigned to any shift, you are required to work a minimum of 10 hours a day, and anyone just beginning with the company typically works every weekend and every holiday. This means there is ABSOLUTELY no work/life balance.

Pros

I've been with Avis Budget Group for 16 years, and one of the biggest reasons I've stayed is the opportunity for growth. I've had multiple promotions throughout my career because the company has consistently been willing to invest in people who work hard, take ownership, and deliver results. No two days are ever the same, which keeps the work interesting. I've had the chance to lead teams in multiple markets, work alongside talented leaders, and continually develop new skills. The business is fast-paced, but it gives you the opportunity to make decisions, solve problems, and have a real impact on both customers and employees. I've worked with leaders who genuinely care about developing talent, and many of the people I've worked with have built long-term careers here. If you're willing to put in the effort, there are significant opportunities to grow professionally and take on increasing levels of responsibility. The company also continues to invest in new technology and operational improvements, making it easier to serve customers and support employees.

Cons

Like any customer-facing operation, there are busy periods that can be demanding, especially during holidays and peak travel seasons. Success requires flexibility, strong communication, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs. The pace isn't for everyone, but for people who enjoy problem-solving, leadership, and working in an environment where every day is different, those challenges become opportunities to learn and grow.
