For starters, the entire past year has exposed senior leadership and CEO David Morken as essentially COVID-deniers. Bandwidth reluctantly had employees WFH at the start of the pandemic while also hinting to everyone that they should keep coming in to the office with constant reminders that the company never "closed", free catered lunches daily to people who worked fully on-site, etc. All the while, Bandwidth's official policy was no masks allowed in the office because of a 'culture of fear' or some such nonsense. After about 6 months there was a huge push to return to office, pre-vaccine and while cases were still spiking. And during all this, senior managers continued to work in the office and there was an obvious disdain for people WFH due to COVID, with CEO David Morken telling one inquiring employee on a company wide call that if he was still concerned about getting sick, Bandwidth was "probably not the place for him to work".
All of this no doubt ties in to the die-hard Christian Conservative senior leadership circle, that begins company meetings with a prayer and, as I stated previously, focuses on childbearing to an almost unhealthy degree.
All of this is to say nothing of the low pay (engineers and devs should expect about 15k less than industry average), low PTO day amount and no rollover, no WFH allowed AT ALL unless sick etc, and a generally pretty toxic good-ol-boy culture.
