Pros
Pockets of really amazing people scattered throughout the organization. Work life flexibility and having the ability to go home at a decent hour. Good healthcare benefits. Good career growth and opportunities depending on the team.
Cons
Where to start…work should be work not a place of worship (prayer at all hands meetings, “be fruitful and multiply” verse on kids of BW posters). When the CEO refuses to acknowledge or take a political stance on BLM (totally fine) because BW as a corporation can’t take a stance on political matters however that doesn’t seem to apply to bringing conservative values into the organization. Be prepared to be micromanaged by your leaders. Most promotions into leadership positions are awarded to “yes” people not to those challenging the way things should be. Historically leaders who disrupt the way things have been done usually get frustrated very quickly and move on to other companies. Lower than market pay, internal promotions are usually lower than external market promotions. Lack of diversity across the board with what seems to be little to no focus from the HR team to define a diversity strategy. COVID strategy was very poorly executed, it was very clearly charged by the CEOs lack of respect for science and proper health protocols. I remember very clearly at the beginning of the pandemic where at an AMA he said he “wanted to go to China, get the virus and survive”, it was very awkward to hear that. It was clearly communicated that the company is an in office culture and their long term strategy was to return to office but forcing everyone to return on the same day without requiring proof of vaccination was irresponsible then eventually failing to report to the entire organization multiple outbreaks leading to a chief of people telling those who wanted answers and communication was to “stand down” (in a company wide slack group) was cherry on top. In addition to that, you have leaders who get very defensive when you provide any feedback that doesn’t fit their narrative. Bandwidth was once an excellent place to work and it still is if you fit into their mold. If you are a person of faith and ideally white you will thrive. If you are looking for an innovative and forward thinking organization with autonomy to succeed and be your authentic self in the workplace, this isn’t it. The positive reviews referring anyone who dares to include any criticism as “cry babies” speaks volumes to the type of people happy there.
