Pros

Excellent opportunities for advancement so long as your are willing to put in the elbow grease to get there. Only in rare occasions does Best Buy recruit from outside the company, which is a good thing. Most Best Buy employees are aware of this and appreciate the opportunities that are laid out for them.

Cons

It's retail, so obviously you don't have normal "weekends" off. Most of Best Buy's money is made during the holiday season, so you employees do not get ANY time off from the months of October through January, making it very difficult to spend any time with family. Putting a strain on your personal life.

Pros

-It's a job that is available in most locations.

Cons

-The company, on a corporate level, doesn't seem to grasp the value of the talent they have. - Close ties with Citibank subvert the importance of product knowledge, customer service, and revenue for credit card sales. - Daily Performance check-ins are overbearing and myopic. - Tends to burnout motivated employees with false carrots and hollow promises. - Pay's terrible, and rides the line of predatory at times.
