Pros
Strong level of knowledge and experience among co-workers Multiple experts across various fields who are excellent resources Nice office environment Good work-life balance Tuition Reimbursment Some good networking between buisiness groups (until recently) high level of employee retention
Cons
Very difficult to get assimilated into the company and establish yourself unless you were brought in by a friend or collegue who has been with the company for a while and can provide you with reputation backing. The company working environment heavily based on its own internal social cliques which unfortunately dictate who recieves recognition and promotions, and who gets let go. Very little work sharing, even within your own designated working group, making it difficult to obtain 40 hours of billable work per week. Felt like you had to go to work and market yourself every day just to find something to work on, almost like looking for a job every day at your....job. Very sloppy set up and poor management structure. The place is also run like a high school, if the right people like you then it is a great place to be, if you are not in with the right people, then it can be a very different story. Not the way a company with such a strong reputation should be handled. CH2M Hill was once great, which is why I decided to join them, but they are in a serious rut with low employee moral and no longer work in the same manner which originally made them a reputable company.
