Pros

Salary is decent. Some interesting design projects. Most people are nice. Good location to ride DART train. Benefits is on par with others in the industry.

Cons

Very bad at executing design concept into construction document, hence the reason for lack of local (Dallas) market projects. Leadership display too much favoritism to certain people. Very bad for worker morale. There are people who have not been productive but were kept around because they are part of the inner circle. Layoff and furlough good people less than a month ago and post a job search now... Obviously did that just to make the accounting number look good without any consideration for the company in the long run.

We appreciate your feedback and insights. At CRTKL, we routinely review our salaries and benefits and invest in competitive rewards that are meaningful and appropriate to the needs of our employees at every stage of their lives. Our benefits design is thoughtful and diverse, from holistic medicine to IVF to many competitive leave programs, such as sick leave, floating holidays, and a total of 10 weeks of fully-paid maternity leave (including 2 weeks of parental leave for new moms and dads). Commuting subsidies, such as DART, are flexible and based on location. Our employees connect to clients and work across a diverse lineup of projects. From your feedback, it’d appear that your team experience was not positive, which is not what we strive for as a company and expect across our leadership. The Dallas office welcomed Harold Thompson this year as its new Office Leader, and he has done an excellent job building upon cohesive expectations, and a good dialogue around responsibilities and initiatives. The feedback from our people has been very positive. Even with WFH due to COVID-19, the people connection has been remarkable, and the effort invested in staying connected has been a priority for the teams and our leadership. Speaking of COVID-19, as with the rest of the industry and the world, our firm is not exempt from some difficult decisions—all made after much thought and care for our people. The job posting you mention predates these actions, and it’s a strategic search in place for months now. We wish you success now and in the future.

Pros

* Opportunities to work on international projects and for new employees to freely share their ideas. * Leadership that not only guides design but also supports employees in becoming better professionals and people. * A great LA office environment with a fitting salary. * An office team with excellent skills and knowledge, and great teams that are easy to work with.

Cons

It seems that incorporating more trend-forward designs could lead to even better results, but as a newcomer, I found it challenging to overcome the established methods and the specific direction and style clients wanted. Nonetheless, they consistently delivered solid outcomes.
