Pros

Capital respects its employees and provides a positive corporate environment. Coworkers are respectful and there is an open door policy throughout the company. Although the company has grown in recent years, there is still a bit of that small family culture. Capital also emphasizes work life balance, and this is one of its selling points to new associates. People are expected to work hard, but management provides support for a balance between family, work, and extracurricular activities. People are generally quite happy because they have time for life aside from work. Benefits are another one of Capital's strong point. They are extremely competitive, with at least 18 days of vacation to start, good health and medical benefits. Capital also has a bonus structure that encourages individual and company performance. Bonuses are generous.

Cons

Capital has grown a bit fast, and so there is shift in the culture that permeated the company when it was a smaller shop. There is a fair bit of bureaucracy, and communication is becoming more "corporate". There is also no standard career track like in a big 4 firm. Capital is also having to deal with a shifting financial market place, which will impact current associates (a first for the company).

Pros

The bonuses and CSRP of 15% as well as many benefits are unmatched. I enjoy many of my colleagues and have made life long friends.

Cons

It was a great place to work and many will continue to feel that way until they are affected like those of us in the Norfolk Virginia office. There is no loyalty from the company and people are replaced either by a “vision“ of technology that doesn’t yet even exist within the organization or by cheap labor “offshore“. I thought I would retire from here and now I find myself out of a job after over 20 years before the end of 2027.
