Pros

Capital One has a great benefits program and they do promote work/life balance. You get work from home days regularly in back office jobs. They also promote community service and giving back which I like a lot.

Cons

Work/life balance is hard to achieve with long hours and work phones. You feel like you’re always attached to the job. The company in general doesn’t live by their own values (do the right thing). Lots of gaps and areas of improvement. Middle management is terrible (micro managers or completely incompetent) and upper management is completely out of touch with levels under them. Performance management needs to be completely revamped. Employees are rated more on defined “competencies” than actual metrics of performance. These “competencies” are things like communication or influence which are completely subjective and at your managers discretion. Basically you can be terrible at your job but if your manager likes you, you can get promoted. Also, management for the most part is a “good ol boys” club and lacks diversity - mainly women or dare I say it....women with families.

Pros

Most advance tech stack. Cutting edge research

Cons

Performance management and feedback based system drives politics. Senior management usually works towards saving their own a** especially in legacy orgs

Pros

Environment was good, food was decent, free food at my location (dont know if it was allowed but it was good)

Cons

The rittenhouse location is managed by a tyrant, he is an incredibly toxic man and upper management make it the most unbearable place to work. Andy will ask you to come in on days you're not scheduled, and then hold it over your head if you don't. Talks about employees behind their backs constantly. No respect enforced employees talked about each other all the time and there was even name calling in meetings, management did nothing. Worst place I've ever worked in my life frankly and affected my mental health in the worst way. Glad to be out out of there. The place itself has potential but the management at the Rittenhouse branch and above them is absolutely terrible in every regard.
