Pros

None I can think of at the new CEC in Norcross

Cons

Where do I begin… I started working for Carmax at the store level and then moved to the CSS where I enjoyed my job very much… Then Carmax decides to go with a new Omni channel approach… they call us customer experience consultants but all we are is bodies at desks being told to read Scripts. The bonuses we are all supposed to get would take an MIT graduate to even understand and there are over 200 people here who are up in arms about being exceedingly underpaid and not being paid what they’ve earned. They bring people in from the stores to work leads which take money out of our pockets because that’s the only way we get paid. All the people at the stores who used to make good money now have their commissions cut in half or to zero, because of the new CEC. Management here is punitive and has no clue how to run this business.. the company itself started this with no plan of action with no organization and the only result is… The people that work for them are making a lot less money and Carmax is making a whole lot more money. Everybody at the CEC… Even though we don’t meet with customers… has to wear a Carmax uniform… More money for Carmax.. we are not allowed to have a pen and a piece of paper or any personalization on our desks. There is so much more I could say but what I will tell you is run fast ..do not work for Carmax anymore… They will lie to you they will cheat you and I will steal from you… And I have documented proof of all of this.

Pros

Remote work, first 2 weeks of the 2 month training, offers sick time before PTO rolls in

Cons

Little to no worklife balance, toxic positivity (like when they called the meeting about taking away our bonuses “exciting news” and tried to gaslight us as to why this was a good thing), extreme micromanagement, listening to our headsets constantly without us knowing, AI rating our metrics, unrealistic expectations, you basically do 4 jobs in one (at Carvana, appraisals / selling, financial applications and documents / EPUs, sales and customer service were ALL DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS.
