Pros

Working in beautiful Medibank building

Cons

Soul destroying atmosphere Suffocating micro management- I see you spent 7 mins on this email. It should have only taken 3 minutes to answer this query. Can you please explain why it took 7 mins? (You can expect a few of these emails from your manager daily... no I’m not joking) You’re actually sick and have a medical certificate and want to take sick leave? You can expect a passive aggressive email from your manager when you return You may have got the gist that most communication from your manager will be via email Highest staff turn over I’ve ever seen- people would literally walk out after a week on the job yet the head honchos seem to be ok with this You are constantly told you are lucky to work for Chubb yet don’t actually get any incentives Want to leave on time? Don’t be silly! You work for Chubb and are lucky so you will stay till 7pm every night. I could go on but honestly if you are at least a semi decent human being stay well away from this hell hole

Pros

Business side is smart and is superb at their product

Cons

The IT organization struggles with structural challenges that impact efficiency. The offshore-heavy model in India means US-based employees regularly work early hours to stay aligned, which is unsustainable long-term. The workforce is heavily weighted toward a high-headcount service model rather than investing in strong engineering talent — you need fewer, better engineers, not more bodies. Central tech functions are attempting to build platforms, but without a clear shared understanding of what a platform actually means, these initiatives remain incomplete. The result is heavy manual workarounds propping up half-finished solutions. Strategic direction shifts frequently, and ongoing layoff announcements make it difficult to plan or build momentum.
